I have been researching my LUXTON ancestors for over a decade now so thought it was time to put all the information in one place for all to see. I have had a lot of help along the way especially from all the wonderful people at the Luxton FHS

Married Jane Daniell on 28 Aug 1704 in Clayhanger, Devon

Jane Luxton (nee Daniell) was buried at St Petrocks Church, Petton, Bampton, Devon on 23 Nov 1750

Children
Joseph Luxton* born Abt. 1704
John Luxton born Abt. 1705
Mary Luxton born Abt. 1707
William Luxton born Abt. 1709
Jacob Luxton born Abt. 1715
Sarah Luxton born Abt. 1716
Joseph Luxton* born Abt. 1719

Robert Luxton was married as Robert Luxon at St Peter's, Clayhanger, Devon & Jane as Jane Danell, not Jane Daniell. Their 7 children were christened Luxon or Luxen, but we presume they are all the same family: though the baptism of the 5th child, Jacob, has not been found, his relationship is known from an indenture dated 1745. Robert & Jane farmed approximately 16 acres at Frogpit Moor, Petton: they were also buried Luxon.

We no nothing of the first four children.

Jacob Luxton married Susannah Lake at Bampton on 6 Dec 1747 and lived at Hutchings Farm, Petton, which he bought from his father in 1745 for £30. They had three children. Susannah married again after Jacob's death, to John Merson on 4 Sep 1763 she survived her first husband by 30 years, and was buried at Petton on 19 July 1789.

Sarah Luxton married Michael Wilson of Sampford Peverell on 3 Aug 1756, also at Bampton.

I'm currently doing some research on the McCallum's in South Africa who are ancestors of my sisters husband. Antoinette Frances LUXTON b abt 1885 married Edward William Tarry McCallum in 1905 in South Africa. I know little more about the LUXTON's and have been unable to find the name or any details on the South African ancestry sites. Is Antoinette someone you've come across in your research and would you be able to provide me any more information.

Many thanks

Regards
